HENDRIX CAREER ADVISOR NETWORK (HCAN) 2025
Here’s your chance to connect with Hendrix Alumni for career and life advice through this career mentoring program. We have many alumni participating this year from a wide variety of professions and paths. Their career profiles are amazing!
What is HCAN (Hendrix Career Advisor Network)?
It is a program which connects Hendrix students with our Hendrix alums for one career-related conversation either by Teams, Zoom, phone, or in person. If your Hendrix alum is open to follow up conversations, you are welcome to have more!
Who will the alumni be?
This year, our HCAN mentors will be Hendrix reunion year alumni (celebrating 10th - 45th reunions) and from various career backgrounds and areas of the country.

Who can participate?
Hendrix seniors, juniors and (if matches remain, sophomores participating in Career Term).
How will students and alumni be matched?
- Based on feedback from students and alumni who have participated previously, STUDENTS will get to pick their alumni match.
- Seniors will have the first option, followed by juniors, and then sophomores will have an opportunity to sign up during Career Term
- Each group will have a “Match Day” as indicated in the schedule below. On that day, students will receive an e-mail with a link to to select a mentor/sign up. Matches are FIRST COME FIRST SERVED, so be ready!
- Students will sign up for their alumni mentor 'match' via NUMBER. Be sure to note the NUMBER of the alumnus/a from the HCAN Alumni Profile Directory. Please have back ups/alternative choices. Matches GO FAST!
How many alumni may each student select?
Each student may only select ONE alumni mentor, to give more students an opportunity for a match.
Is any sort of training required?
Yes- and it's EASY! If you find an alumni match, and sign up to participate, you will be required to attend to a very brief in-person HCAN training session. After you complete the training, you will THEN be given the name and contact information of the alumnus/a that you selected so that you can connect. If you do not complete the training, we cannot match you with the alumni or provide you with contact information. Your selected profile may be reassigned to another student.
How will the HCAN Training work?
After you select your Alumni Match, you will receive an e-mail with the date & time of the training. There will be a couple of times to select from, so choose the time that works for you. This training will walk you through how and when to make contact with and introduce yourself to your assigned alumni, as well as the “dos and don’ts” of HCAN.
When will the matching process take place?
