Important: These instructions only apply if your Hendrix account requires Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). If you do not require MFA, check our instructions for setting up your Apple mail.
If you are using an iPhone and are required to use Multi-Factor
Authentication (MFA), we recommend that you use the Outlook for iPhone app to connect
to Office 365 for your mail, contacts, etc. because the native mail app in iOS
does not support MFA.
If you are using the iPhone’s built in mail client instead
of Outlook for iPhone, and you are also required to use Multi-Factor Authentication,
you will have to use a one time-use app
password anytime the phone requires you to re-enter the password for your
Hendrix account.
- Log in to your Office 365 account through a web
browser.
- Click on your Account icon on the top right of
the screen. It may be a picture or your initials.
- Click on My
Account
- Click on Manage
security & privacy
- Click on Additional
security verification
- Click on Create
and manage app passwords
- Click the create
button and enter a name that makes sense (like “my iPhone”).
- Enter the newly generated password into your
iPhone in place of your Hendrix password.
- Click close
and close the browser window.
