Hendrix Announces New Vice President for Enrollment

Kasey Evans to join Hendrix staff in March

Kasey Evans, VP of EnrollmentHendrix College has named Kasey Evans its new Vice President for Enrollment following an extensive nationwide search. Evans will join the Hendrix staff in March. 

Originally from Tennessee, Evans currently serves as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Dean of Admissions at Illinois Wesleyan University. She brings with her more than a decade of experience working in higher education.  

“I’m excited to welcome Kasey as our Vice President of Enrollment,” commented Hendrix President Karen Petersen. “Kasey has a history of strong leadership in higher education enrollment, reflecting a commitment to student success and the liberal arts. Her strategic vision for student recruitment and retention as well as her willingness to innovate will be vital assets as we welcome future generations of students to Hendrix.”  

According to Evans, both working at and attending a small liberal arts university gave her opportunities to diversify her skill set while striving to heighten and define her leadership capabilities and commitment to volunteerism. Within the admissions profession, she is involved in the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) as a committee member and facilitator for the Middle Management Institute and has formerly served on the Project Reach Committee.  Evans is a member of Kappa Delta sorority, continuing her involvement by advising collegiate chapters. She volunteers for the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) organization and was an active member of the Council for IWU Women.  

Evans stated, “I’m honored to be chosen as the next Vice President for Enrollment at Hendrix College. During my time visiting campus, I found the community to be engaged, creative, and compassionate. I’m excited to build upon this legacy of success by highlighting the value of the amazing gem that is Hendrix in recruiting future students.” 

A first-generation college graduate, Evans holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English-Writing from Illinois Wesleyan University. She later earned a Master of Science degree in College Student Affairs from Eastern Illinois University. Her career experience includes roles of progressive leadership responsibility at Eastern Illinois University and Illinois Wesleyan University in college admissions and other capacities.
