The Hendrix Players will offer three performances of the 2025 Senior Seminar production “Up, Down, Strange, Charmed, Beauty, and Truth” by Edward Allan Baker. Showtimes are April 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and April 26 at 2 p.m. in Cabe Theatre.

Each spring, senior theatre students work collaboratively to bring a play to the Cabe Theatre stage in partial fulfillment of their degree requirements. The seniors are mentored by faculty and staff and are supported by many other students.  The 2025 graduating theatre majors and their roles for the production are: Katie Baker, director, costume designer, and sound designer; and Lovey Krone, stage manager, scenic designer, and lighting designer.

Chair of Theatre Arts and Dance Antonio Horne said, “This culminating experience for our seniors is quite rigorous. It is their opportunity to demonstrate all of the skills they have acquired during their time at Hendrix College.” In addition to putting their creative and analytical talents to use, the students also get to refine other skills highly valued by employers - communication, collaboration, leadership, inclusivity, and professionalism.

“Up, Down, Strange, Charmed, Beauty, and Truth” is a story about members of a family struggling to balance their individual needs and desires with those of the whole. The cast features Bella Kerby as Marley and Ivy Branum as Steph – teen sisters who are seeking help from their uncle Danny, played by Jake Nurkin.

The play is performed in one act without intermission. This show is recommended for audience members ages 15 and older due to adult language, alcoholism, violence, themes of homophobia, and mention of drugs included in this production. For additional information, call 501-450-1343.
