- Academic information (e.g., announcements, add/drop deadlines, events, reminders, support)
- Business Office information (e.g., billing and purchasing deadlines, etc.)
- Campus operations (e.g., Business Office, Facilities, Public Safety, etc.)
- Campus safety or emergency notification (e.g., alerts, incident follow-ups, etc.)
- College-wide information and news (e.g., President’s messages, weather plans, etc.)
- Community support (e.g., Chaplain’s Office or Counseling Services resources, etc.)
- Enrollment information (e.g., Admission and Financial Aid information, etc.)
- Human Resources information (e.g., benefits, health services, insurance, employee news)
- Notes and Notices from Shared Governance Committees (e.g. student senate reports, faculty meeting notes, committee reports, etc.)
- Student information (e.g., Student Affairs, Residential Life)
Examples that do not meet the standard of necessary official institutional information include but are not limited to:
- Advertising or sales of goods or services
- Personal reflections on campus or community events
- Organizing personal gatherings
- Political statements
