Writing Center piece featured in ‘The Peer Review’

Past and present contributors to the writing center at Hendrix College authored a piece featured in the Spring 2025 issue of The Peer Review.

The contribution, “Snapshots from Before a Revolution: A Talking Picture Book About AI in the Hendrix College Writing Center,” was written by former writing associates and recent graduates Katherine Scalzo '24, Sable Alysse '24 and Owen Edgington '24; current associate Eden Robbins; and faculty supervisor Dr. Felipe Pruneda Sentíes. The piece aims to reflect on ways in which the advent of generative artificial intelligence has impacted the writing center in recent years by creating what they call a “Talking Picture Book,” a series of images paired with the various writers’ voices as they share their individual responses to the project’s central questions.

“We’re very proud of it,” said Dr. Pruneda Sentíes, “I think we did a good job of aiming for a wide audience, so we trust you’ll enjoy reading and listening to the piece. It’s our first publication as a group, and we’re excited to see how our work can continue to reach readers beyond our campus.”

The Peer Review is a fully online scholarly journal of the International Writing Centers Association. The journal promotes the work of researchers in writing centers around the world, and this special issue considers the impact of AI on writing centers.
