Hendrix College to Host ‘Know Your Ballot’ Nonpartisan Event October 30

Department of Politics-sponsored event to feature Professor Emeritus Jay Barth ’87

CONWAY, Ark. (October 22, 2024) –The Hendrix College Department of Politics is sponsoring a “Know Your Ballot” event on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall A of the Mills Social Sciences Center, building 10 on the current campus map. The event is free and open to the public.

This nonpartisan session will focus on the voting process, issues on the ballot, and a review of the arguments put forward by advocates and opponents of those issues. Dr. Jay Barth ’87, professor emeritus of politics at Hendrix, will lead a discussion of civic engagement and the ballot initiatives.

Following an intermission with light refreshments, local and state candidates who are present will be invited to say a few words about their platforms.

All students, employees, and community members are invited to attend this event as part of preparing to cast an informed vote on Tuesday, November 5.
