Catalog 2016-2017

Academic Probation, Suspension, and Dismissal

Except in the case of extenuating circumstances, a student who fails to meet one or more of these criteria will be placed on academic probation, effective for the next semester. The Registrar may remove a student from academic probation when the student meets each of the minimum academic performance standards defined under Good Academic Standing.

A student remaining on academic probation after two consecutive semesters is subject to academic suspension for one semester. A student who is academically suspended may not enroll for classes at Hendrix during the suspension period. Following the academic suspension period, a student wishing to return to Hendrix must apply for readmission through the Office of Admission. Any coursework completed at another institution while a student is on academic suspension must first be approved by the Registrar’s Office.

A student who has been readmitted to the College after academic suspension may be dismissed from the College if satisfactory academic progress is not maintained. A student who is academically dismissed is barred from all further enrollment at the College. A student may not be readmitted to Hendrix following academic dismissal. Additionally, a student is subject to academic dismissal or suspension if the student accumulates four F grades in courses with whole course credit, fails all courses attempted in a single semester, or participates in an act or acts of academic dishonesty.
